God Has Treasures Of Goodness
In Malachi there is a promise regarding the tithe. As a test of trusting, or fearing God, the Lord says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it” (Malachi 3:10).
This is not a lesson on tithing, but it is a lesson on God’s provision. His promises reveal that God has laid in store treasures of blessings that he is holding in preparation for the day when people will trust him and take refuge in his promises.
God has stored up many good things for those who fear him. When we love him we will trust him. When we trust him we will obey him and when we obey him we turn the key that unlocks the windows of heaven so that he can bless us abundantly.
There are many who fear the Lord and the only thing others see is the blessing the Lord gives them. God will bless openly those who trust him privately. The depth of our faith is not always evident to others, but it does not go unnoticed by God.
God will reward before men those who take refuge in him and trust his ability rather than their own. The world does not know how we trust him, but they can see his hand of blessing upon us.
Prayer: Lord, I know you have treasures in heaven, but grant me the confidence that you have made those treasures available to me as I walk in faith and trust you. In Jesus name, amen.
Message: His promises reveal that God has laid in store treasures of blessings that he is holding in preparation for the day when people will trust him and take refuge in his promises. Trust Him, follow His direction, and He will bless you abundantly.
Affirmation: I trust the Lord and His word. I know He will bless me as I obey Him.
Reflection: I challenge you to take some time and list every need you have. It may be physical, it could be financial, or relationship. Whatever your need, write it down. Then find Scripture where God is promising to meet that particular need. Memorize and meditate upon those Scriptures.
